The Province has just announced its  ActNow BC program is  heading out on a road trip.

The  interactive, activity oriented tour  is packed into two semis that will criss cross the Province from now till November of this year.  The Tour will first  be in this region  during Bill Barker Days in Quesnel,  from the 19th to the 22nd of July.

It will be in Prince George  from the 20th to 23rd of September as part of the grand opening ceremonies of the Northern Sports Centre.

The  tour rolls into Terrace October 4th - 7th.

The  tour features interactive games, hands-on exhibits and informative displays for audiences of all ages.  It  hopes to promote the importance of physical activity, proper nutrition, elimination of tobacco use and healthy choices during pregnancy.

"ActNow BC is about showing people that making simple, easy choices can help them to achieve better health," said Hogg. "We want British Columbians of all ages to know how easy it is to make a big change in overall health by just adding one fruit or vegetable to their daily diet or by increasing physical activity levels. This tour will help us reach
our goal to lead North America in healthy living and physical fitness."

What a waste of money...
Waste of money is right!
These types of programs are only to make the government look good...or so THEY think.
They serves no purpose and are a complete waste of taxpayers dollars. There are far too many dollars wasted on this crap!
Waste of money? Have you watched some of the people waddling around out there. There are more obese chainsmokers in Northern BC than anywhere else in North America.Wish I could open up get a Harveys and Swiss Chalet up here. I'd be rich.
That may very well be true to a certian extent trollunderthebride, but these people KNOW they are overweight chainsmokers so what the point of wasting good money to remind them of that?
After the money is spent, they will STILL be obese chainsmokers!
Now excuse me,I was just on my way out to Burger King!
