Prince George City Council has received four letters from concerned residents asking that the city make the Ringling Brothers Circus (scheduled for the city on September 20-21st) the last one that will be allowed in the city.

Cindy Buker says the City should stand up and say we will not promote animal abuse.

She says 19 municipalities have adopted a performance by law and PG is not one of them. She asks the city to look into the matter.

Buker concludes the BC SPCA opposes the use of wild animals in these types of shows and asks that in the future they no be permitted in the city.

city council has done a lot of silly or stupid or inane things lately, pick what suits you.
Of course they will listen to 4 people....
Sounds a bit like the hockey enforcers fiasco
I'll let my vote tell them who think they are all powerful that they really aren't....
80,000 - 04 = 79,996 that do not care what Cindy Buker thinks..
19 municipalities? where? in countries around the world? come on. give us all the facts before crap like this is posted. As for Cindy, i am guessing she has complained about this before. she should get out there and educate people why they should not go to the circus. if the interest isn't there they won't be back. i have heard these circus's are pretty shoddy so i would not go but running down to city hall is pathetic.

The 19 municipalities referred to are all in BC.

Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Delta, Kamloops, Kelowna,
Langley Township, Maple Ridge, Nanaimo (city),
Nanaimo (regional district), New Westminster, North Cowichan, North Vancouver
Parksville, Saanich,
Salmon Arm, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria.

Now you know why Prince George is the only place they are coming to in BC. It is the largest place left to not ban circuses with exotic animals.

i was just asking for the facts. i should not have to go and look them up on my own. the anonymous writer of the story should have done the work. so relax and get to babbling about something else now.
