National Defence Releases Name of 6th Soldier

The name of the 6th  Canadian soldier killed yesterday in a  roadside bomb blast  has been released.

Captain Jefferson Francis, 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, based in Shilo, Man.

On July 4, 2007 six Canadian soldiers and an Afghan interpreter were killed, when their RG-31 vehicle struck a suspected improvised explosive device approximately 20 km southwest of Kandahar City.
