Just 24-hours after it was issued, the Ministry of Environment has cancelled the Air Quality Advisory for the City of Prince George.

Hot, dry weather was blamed for a build-up of fine particulate matter in the airshed when the advisory was issued yesterday morning.

Today, the Ministry’s Dennis Fudge says, "Strong winds associated with thundershowers that moved through the region (last night) provided excellent mixing to take place in the atmosphere, resulting in better dispersal of air pollutants."

Twenty-four hour PM10 levels were 34 at the Downtown monitoring location, and 61 at the BCR site - down considerably from yesterday morning’s 50 and 104, respectively.  (The Air Quality objective for PM10 is 50 for a 24-hour average.)

Fudge says, based on the air quality data, the high levels of both PM10 and finer particles (PM2.5) were due to a mix of combustion emissions (smoke) and dust (coarser particles).

I think the cancer is coming from Canfor.
PGTV is owned by J.P. and does he not have some shares in the mill. When PGTV news reports the problem is from "dust in the air and combustion sources",why does it end there?
Pretty sure Prince George air is thick because of the mill.
It would'nt really hurt the bottem line too much too clean it up.
If they don't want too mill their product here than maybe they can transport the choke elsewhere
Yes, the particulates get dumped onto the ground where they may leech into the water table. Hence cancer.
