The Prince George Service Canada Centre for Youth is holding a reality television themed "Hire or Fire Night" this Wednesday at St. Giles Presbyterian Church on Edmonton Street, across from the hospital.

The event will give youth ages 15-30 a chance to improve their job hunting skills while learning what employers are looking for in the staff they hire.

"The Hire or Fire" night will feature a variety of games and prizes, and Youth Service Officer Vivian Houg expects the event will be as fun as it is helpful. "It’s going to be a great opportunity to network," says Houg, "And the games will give people the chance to practice the skills we talk about, and win awesome prizes."

A panel of local employers will be on hand to give advice on how to make an effective resume, what to wear while job hunting and tips to a successful interview.

The  event gets underway at  6:00 p.m. and runs till 7:30.

Anyone wanting more information can call,  Vivian at 561-5200 extension 353.

What time is the event at? How about some contact info? Please update ASAP - we have a 15 year old who is keen to go.
Bohemian. Read the article. It states it will be held on Wednesday night. It will get underway at 6pm and end at 730pm. It will be held at the Presbyterian Church across from the hospital, and last but not least if you need more information, it tells you to contact Vivian at 561 5200.

What other information do you need???
Sorry Palopu, I added the information after bohemian made the request. The time and phone number were not in the initial story which bohemian read.

Thanks. That makes more sense. Sorry Bohemian.
"...while learning what employers are looking for in the staff they hire."

Strange world out there. Don't people know all the employer is looking for is some ring infested asthmatic to give a paycheck to?
Don't forget Yamadoo, one that knows his or her rights too! Like overtime, after eight hours and one minute.
What a pile! Employers are looking for the same things they always have; persistance, ambition, initiative, reliability, honesty, interest, a willingness to learn and improve. Oh wait, there I go again, I'm stuck in the past.
Must get with it. Must get with it.
