There will soon be some changes to the Downtown of Prince George.
The burned out shell of the building which had been home to B&B Music, the Java Mugga Mocha coffee shop and a barbershop will soon be torn down. The Fire department has been advised that work will start soon. City Hall says a demolition permit has yet to be issued for the removal of the building but says normally the people involved get all the approvals from the various agencies, like hydro and the gas company first before filing for a demolition permit.
As for the building on Quebec Street which was the scene of a fire on the May long weekend, there is no word on when that building will be either repaired or demolished. A security fence has been set up around the building and some of the debris has been moved within that fencing.
It is not likely anything will happen with that site until the insurance company has made a decision on the claim. The company is still reviewing that case.
