Valemount and Loon Lake Get Cash for Water Systems

Valemount and Loon Lake have received Municipal Infrastructure Funding to help improve the quality of their drinking water.
The communities have been given nearly $2 million dollars. Valemount will get the biggest chunk, $1.93 million to build a drinking water treatment system complete with filtration plant, low lift pump, a building , all the necessary piping and electrical works.
The Thompson Nicola Regional District also picked up some dollars. The $54 thousand dollars will be used to upgrade the Loon Lake community water system providing 120 residents with improved water quality and fire protection.
