Chili Recall Now Includes Some Pet Foods by Same Company
By 250 News
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has re-issued its notice of a food recall and is adding some canned dog food made by the same company.
There haven’t been any confirmed cases of botulism poisoning in Canada, but the agency is concerned that this product may have been purchased and is sitting in a cupboard at the cabin, or it has been packed for a camping trip, just waiting for someone to come along and, not knowing, heat it up and eat it.
Great Value Original Chili with Beans, sold in 425 g cans bearing UPC 6 81131 79994 2 and Great Value Hot Chili with Beans, sold in 425 g cans bearing UPC 6 81131 79995 9, should be disposed of immediately. These products were sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores across Canada.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has already issued three public advisories about this recall and is now adding some cans of dog food manufactured in the same facility as the chili to the list of foods that should be disposed of.
