Attempt to Stick Up Cabbie Foiled

Prince George RCMP say a 34 year old man is in custody facing charges after someone tried to rob a cab driver just before noon today.
Police say the PG Taxi driver was dropping off a fare at the First Litre Pub on Strathcona when the male passenger opened the door to the cab, got partially out of the vehicle, pulled a knife, and demanded money.
The cab driver put the cab into reverse, causing the would be robber to leave the cab and take off on foot. The cabbie followed the suspect to the area of Victoria and 20th and from there a police dog pick up the scent and followed it to the 2100 block of Redwood.
A suspect was located in an apartment.
A 34 year old man now faces robbery related charges. There was also an outstanding warrant for the man's arrest.
