Guilty Plea by One of 5 Charged in Ft. St. John Fires

One of the five people who were arrested and charged in relation to a fire that destroyed the Nova Star Inn and Suites, the Esta Villa Motel and several business on Sikanni Road in Fort St John in June, has pled guilty to Mischief Endangering Human Life in Fort St. John Provincial Court.

The male, who is 18 years of age but was a youth at the time of the fire, has been remanded in custody since his arrest on June 21, 2007. He will appear for sentencing in Fort St. John on October 15, 2007. The young man still faces an outstanding charge of Arson.
The four other teens arrested and charged with Mischief Endangering Human Life are to appear in Fort St. John Provincial Court in September. Three will appear on September 4, 2007, and the fourth youth is scheduled to appear on September 10, 2007.
