Zagwyn Now Thought to Be In Vanderhoof Area

North District RCMP members as well as officers from Fraser Laker and neighburing detachments, now believe, Richard Zagwyn  (shown at right)has moved into the woods in the Vanderhoof region. 

Roadblocks have been set up by police in the Vanderhoof area.

Police report this morning that  several shots were fired at officers  pursuing Zagwyn, but no one was hurt. 

The 21 year old Zagwyn  ( also known as Richard Willier) is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant.   He had been released to the community after serving 2 thirds of his  two year sentence for assault, using force and robbery. 

The public is to consider ZAGWYN armed and dangerous and they are asked to not approach him. Anyone who has information about ZAGWYN’s whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.

Zagwyn was last seen wearing a red t-shirt under a jacket.

Wow, sixteen months for assault, force, and robbery. When they released him to the community he obviously thought they were joking. Firing shots? They should have had a mug shot of him down at Gun Registry, they might have caught him by now, you know, when he went in to register his gun.
