Someone's harvest plans  have been thwarted by the Prince George RCMP.

On Wednesday, police seized  about 650 marijuana plants  on Crown land  near Nukko lake.

Yesterday police  seized  about 3700 marijuana plants from two  Crown Land  areas near Longworth.

In both cases,  the  plants were mature and ready to be  harvested.

Crown land? I did not know the government was involved in herbiculture!
3700 + 650 plants, thats a lot a pot off the market.
metalman.
I didn't know anyone still grew weed outdoors anymore. Hydroponic is usually the order of the day today. I guess there is a market for low grade bunk in Prince George. Not likely the work of too organized crime though.
Actually, weed grows quite well outside but takes much longer to mature.
I remember that well from the 60's when there was no hydroponics that we knew about.
In fact, that's what attracted the longhairs to the gulf islands in the first place.(many of the longhairs are still there, just a bit grey and wrinkled now)
In those days, nobody wanted to live on a godforsaken rock out in the ocean somewhere, so it was ideal.
I once saw an acre of weed that was doing very well outside on Denman Island. It was easy to see from the air and it was actually a decoy for the REALLY big crop somewhere else!
The long arm of the law never found any of it, so I would assume it got harvested and sold off as "B.C.Green" as it was called back then!
:-)
I'm surprized it was outside considering the short growing season for it up north. Places like denman island have a much longer season.
Did they not pay stumpage?
Did they not pay stumpage?
right on dgdiggler...the growing season would make a difference, but I bet you could still get a crop even if it was poor quality.
Owl,from the size of some of the plants I saw on Denman, they SHOULD have paid stumpage!
:-)
Damn Damn damn ......you know what bugs me I live in a town just south of pg that is rampant with long time vendors of Hard substances...these people dont move ....they're so obvious in what they are doing but the cops go and pull some bunk plants ..good for you guys..(dripping with sarcasm here)..why do I pay taxes for a system that has obviously got something terribly wrong with it......why do we have border patrol coast guard rcmp drug squads when any one of your family members can get whatever they want any time of day or night and destroy thier future....these hard substances (most) are not native to this country....something is very wrong......why why why....that quebec protester thing is also very very scary.....What ever faith I had in the system here is just about non-exsistent now
It used to be plants needed 12 and 12 hours of night and day to trip into the budding process. The result was they would not trip in these parts until late August and would die from frost before they could ever be harvested. New strains out of Europe widely available now don't rely on the sun for triping into bud, and will trip automatically after 8 weeks of grow making a 16 week life cycle that allows them to be grown outdoors as far north as Whitehorse Yukon. I've seen guys when floating the rivers that use the rivers to move generators and water pumps for remote locations in places where it is nearly impossible to locate.

I see no reason why this stuff shouldn't be taxed with the tax revenue used to crack down on the hard drug dealers and importers.
hahahahahaha was I lauhging?

:)
hahahahaha...um...what were we talking about...?
:-)
I am amazed at the knowledge people seem to have about growing hemp. I'd never be good at it. I have a hard enough time growing dandilions for wine.
hic....
I hear ya Owl,but I never met a dandilion wine that I liked.
Now, a good bottle of double malt scotch....
