There are just two days left to make a written submission to the Railway Safety Act Review Commission.

The deadline is August 31st.

The Commission held public consultation sessions across the country with the final session held in Ottawa on the 21st of this month.  The 4 member panel will develop a preliminary report by the end of September, and a final report will be completed by the end of October.

The information gathering session concludes just as Transport Canada has released its year to date stats on rail incidents.  According to the latest report, year to date ( as of end of July)  incidents in B.C. are up when it comes to derailments:

Please note, all of the stats reported here are for British Columbia only

So why has CN been saying accidents are down this year ? They are up dramatically !
CN is a liar....
sorry no one hurt no environmental damage now go away.
I have been saying that for awhile.
They are covering their butts with as many coats as they can.
They know they are unsafe but will never admit it.
This is the first I have hear of this submission, so they have been keeping that quiet too?

CN is a liar in my opinion...it should have read.
These stats are for BC only. It's possible that they may have had one or two less derailments over the entire system.
I am sure there are a lot more incidents involving CN that we will ever know about.
I also beleive there are many, many close calls that are never reported, or at least, that we will never hear about, but could be the big-bang-in-waiting.
I think it is time Transportation Canada or, someone with some brass, to stand up to CN, and take a long hard serious look at these reported and unreported incidents.
I will admit that I shall not hold my breath waiting for this to happen.
I will however be waiting to see how long I have to hold my breath.
Instead of making a comment I posted a submission. It took all of 7 minutes.
I received confirmation and will be in the published report. Where are the rest of you?????????
