A shot was fired into a Spruce Street home in Prince George overnight.  Luckily the two occupants of the home were not injured.

Prince George RCMP say the resident spotted a suspicious person in his back yard.  When confronted by the resident, the male uttered threats which made the resident retreat into his home.  Seconds later, two shots were fired, and one of the bullets came through the window and penetrated a wall inside the house.

A sort time later, police were called to the 2200 block of Upland where residents say they saw a man with a gun roaming through the area.  Police conducted an intensive search of the area and spotted a male matching the description of the suspect, entering a vehicle belonging to a resident of the Upland complex.  The male was arrested without incident.  A loaded semi-automatic assault rifle was located and seized from the vehicle as well as items believed to be stolen goods.

A 26 year old Prince George man is in custody and the investigation continues.

A loaded semi-automatic assault rifle!...can you believe it, should treat him as a terrorist and throw away the key.
This is just one example of the goofs that run around this city- the general public has no idea how much crime happens in this city. The alcohol fueled crime was always here, but higher levels of violent crime without the booze factor are much more frequent.
YOu can bet that when this call came in, all of the shift members were on this, leaving the rest of the city uncovered. It may have turned out ok due to the timing of the incident, but if something else had hit the fan then resources would have been nil.
Time for pg to get more cops, Mr. Mayor, and not just a handfull.
Yes throw the key away for this guy I agree. More officers is a good point but we all know all the recent events and concerns are being looked at and now this thing in Fort St. John needs to be looked at. Never ending circle.
What about ft st john? we're talking about pg here!
I bet he didn't have his guns registered either. Probably bought them off his crack dealer who imports them by the crate load.

He obviously knew the homes he was robbing would not have guns to shot back with, which is why he could get away with doing his crimes in such a bold fashion. How would you like to run into that guy waling home from work at night.

BTW 250 Billion guns in the United States public. 7 million guns in Canada public. Thats 90 guns per American and only one gun for every 4 Canadians. Per gun crime rate has Canada out of control compared to the Americans.

With 250 Billion unregistered guns on the street in the States how can anyone think restricting legal gun ownership in Canada will stop gun crimes?
Heidi is referring to the fellow who died of a cocaine overdose after going snaky on a bunch of officers in Ft St John. If the police are not going to deal with these out of control, hopped up, drunken goofs, who is? I don't think that most folks who post here realize that when you deal with that segment of the population these things will sometimes occur. The recent events have been looked at from all angles and as far as I can tell the police have not been found at fault. These nitwits bring it on themselves when they decide to fight the cops.
IMO violent crime taskforces should be set up in every key city in the interior with the ability to use whatever they seize in their raids to further advance and fund the continued "crack down" on problems like this. And ya troll these nitwits do bring it down on themselves, the powers that be just need to put the hammer down on this type of crime.
Thanks troll i've been searching like crazy on the internet to see what happened in fort st. john but they didn't say much about it so had to sneak that comment in with my other comments hoping someone would respond.
CBC had reported it on their website.
Sounds like something akin to the clay wiley matter. A cocaine cardiac. The goof's fault.
I believe a lot of good people get caught up in all the wrong stuff. Not talking about the guy in this article that fired shots into somebody's home; their safety net from the outside world???? I do believe something more though than people getting caught up in all the wrong stuff, it's respect for the dead. We don't know the story behind most of these people that pass away from drugs...unless they live in Hollywood or appear on the Intervention show on TLC. So to say it was "The goof's fault." is pretty harsh and insensitive. Don't read more into this comment than necessary just to bash me..i'm not talking about the horrible people of the world but we don't know most peoples stories so until we do we should just let them rest.
A "semi-automatic assault rifle" is an oxy-moron.

If it's semi-automatic then it's not an "assault rifle" since assault rifles have to be full auto capable (or burst capable).

If reporters are going to use technical jargon they should make sure they know what it means first.
Well Heidi, some of us know alot more about the people mentioned than you do.
Respect for cokeheads that prey on society and make a general nuisance of themselves? Ah no, there are other folks who need help long before this group gets to the front of the line. Maybe some of the folks that post here should go and talk to any emergency services personnel who deal with these druggies on a daily basis. How about waiting in emergency late at night with your sick child while you watch all these losers draining our system running around the hospital trying to find drugs or generally anything to steal. Sympathy? Nope.
