Tomorrow, the Cops for Cancer “Tour de North” will leave Prince George  to make its way to  Prince Rupert.

This is the 10th annual ride aimed at raising funds for paediatric cancer research, Canadian Cancer programs that help children and families, summer camps and a toll-free Cancer Information Service line (1-888-939-3333).

There will be 21 police officers and one ambulance attendant taking part in the seven day 826 kilometre ride.  To send them off, there will be a by donation pancake breakfast in front of the Re/Max Realty office on 15th Avenue.

After the breakfast,    groups which have been raising funds for this event will present their cheques, and there will be some “head shaving” as some fund raisers lose their locks for pledges.

The breakfast starts at 7:30 .

This is one of four Cops for Cancer Tours in B.C.   Last year, the tours raised more than $2.8 million dollars.

"Cops for Cancer Tour Ready to Peddle!"

To peddle means to sell, hawk or get rid of. I believe one pedals a bicycle so the correct headline should say that they are ready to pedal!

Nevertheless, good luck to them and their efforts are magnificent, in my opinion!
