I really wonder if any of this will inspire anyone to come to Prince George. The few tourist sites the community does have pale in comparison to other communities. "Look George! We can go to the CN Centre and hear another worn out rock band reverberate through the rafters!" Now there is an idea that has....."Pizzaz"
I think the only good investment is promoting PG in even more boring places like Edmonton and Calgary.
• "Train in PG" .... we already have a railway museum ....

• Communities in Bloom $ 6,000 ( continued effort to improve street appeal of properties) when will they get around to First Avenue? It will take a bit more than flower baskets. A good start would be to declare the sheds along there unsightly and unbecoming of a Northern Capital and tear them down. The getting sight obscuring fences for the rest of the junkyards along there between the bridge and Victoria Street. The north side of the street is an eyesore.

• CN Centre Web Site Improvement $27,500 ( key tool for showcasing the CN Centre and to attract new events) . How exactly will the website attract events? I really thought that those who market the place would be seeking the events would fit rather than the events looking for a place which might house them. Maybe I am just old fashioned.

• Visitor tax implementation $20,000 ( 2% hotel tax for further marketing projects amed at making P.G. a destination place).

I am going to spend a week in Prince George because..... I wanna check out the drug availability, see how well the cops respond to my petty crimes in order for me to have some drug money, the pawn shops, the drop in centres, the soup kitchens, the homeless shelters, get a new pair of socks and then maybe I will find my way down south to Kelowna, where they know how to treat the homeless. Maybe build a tent city, too.
Havent heard how the Calgary to Prince George Promotion went, however I assume that if it was a big success we wuld have heard something by now. The promotion was finished Sept. 3rd.

The flight between Calgary and Prince George was put on with the **use it or lose it proviso**. Are we going to lose it.??? or did we use it.???

Noticed the flight on Saturday had 27 inbound passengers and 23 outbound. This would be 50% capacity. Dont have a feel for any other flights.
Edmonton & Calgary are more boring than The Pig??????????? I'm not a real big fan of Edmonton (kinda like a big PG) but c'mon.
Palopu

the a/c flight is running about 75% fill.
Great idea to ask for $275,000 to market PG. But, what is it we are offering? Who is our target audience? How effective are we at reaching our target audience? Where is the fruit? The success of every campaign will produce fruit, a harvest of some kind. Where is the fruit from what we are doing? Chester
