Prince George RCMP are investigating a rash of break and enters and thefts in the College Heights area of the city.  They think the person responsible has just recently moved into the neighbourhood.

The first event took place in the 6700 block of Westmount Crescent on September 21st.  A thief got into the house through a basement window while the residents were sleeping and stole a laptop and some movies.  The homeowner’s dog was barking, and it’s thought this was when the suspect was in the yard.

The next one was in the 7000 block of O’Grady Road on Saturday.  The homeowner says someone got into the house through the back door, took a purse and set of keys, then stole a vehicle.

Later on Saturday, police were called to a home in the 7100 block of St. Lawrence.  In this case, entry was gained through a patio door.  The homeowner feels the suspect was interrupted and fled before anything was stolen.

Next came a call from a homeowner in the 7600 block of McMaster Crescent on Sunday morning. The homeowner heard a window being opened and yelled, and a male suspect fled on a bike towards the park.

The most recent call came from a residence in the 6000 block of Simon Fraser Avenue during the supper hour   on Sunday.  The homeowner had been away for the weekend and returned home to find someone had entered the house and spent a lot of time going through the home. The suspect in this matter was seen on the back deck by neighbours.  Police have seized several items for forensic identification.

what!...nothing else to steal in the VLA!
That's probably where he's fencing the goods!
what we need is more bicycle paths.
highway for the theives!!! less than 7
minutes from college heights to old wood
wheaton location.
Ah ... I was wondering why I saw someone riding down the path the other day with a 42 inch plasma flat screen TV on the back of his bicycle ...

;-)
i think you were mistaken, was that not
someones non replaceable sentimental memories stashed away in their pillowcase
riding down the path?
Those typically do not have too much street value, except those that may be held in a Museum, such as medals which are collector items.

The pillow case non-replaceable sentimental memories more typically go up in smoke in a fire or get ruined in a flood.
If they were just local resident juvenile delinquents, I guess all you can do is wait til they grow up and move away. No fear as the bumper sticker says.
Disapointing behavior. Try to interrupt their plans and you become the bad guy. So, really, you just need to let them grow out of it. Is that your recommendation? Chester
Let them grow out of it? IMO , in a nutshell, yes. Whatcha gonna do? What laws are ya gonna enforce? Arrest them? Ya gotta factor in their ages. The Young Offenders Act is a joke within a joke. Open custody? Counsel them til their eyes roll out of their heads?
Shoot them? We ain't allowed to own guns. Beat them? Nah? Don't wanna be charged with assault. Try and get my stuff back somehow? Nah! Seems O.J. screwed that up fer himself. I am open fer suggestions.
