SUMMARY

September got off to an odd start with near normal temperatures during the first week however this was accompanied by generally wet conditions with precipitation recorded on each of the first 6 days. . The second week of the month was highlighted by well above normal temperatures and abundant sunshine, a late summer treat. This all came to and end near mid month when what seems like someone turned the page to fall. Temperatures cooled dramatically with precipitation showing up on a regular basis, 11 out of the last 15 days . This cool unsettled pattern continued through to the end of the month.

In the end, the month was just about right on the long term normal with daytime highs a bit below normal being compensated by the overnight lows a bit above normal. Precipitation, on the other hand was well above the 30 year normal. As one would expect, it came frequently with measurable amounts recorded on 18 days during the month compared to the typical 13 days.
