A 43 year old man has been charged following a break and enter into a Davis Road home Saturday morning.

Prince George RCMP say just before noon, they got a call from a resident saying a neighbour’s home had been broken in to.

Several officers, patrolling the area because of a rash of   break and enters in the region, responded to the call.  They spotted a suspect on Wheeler Avenue near Davis Road.

The male was found to be in possession of a crowbar which matched the tool marks at the break in scene.  He was also in possession of a large amount of Canadian Tire money, a large quantity of dimes and hockey coins as well as rolls of pennies which had the name of the break and enter victim  written on them.

While police were dealing with the suspect, another neighbour came forward and identified the man as the same person she had discovered knocking on her window.  When she went to the door, the suspect said he was looking for a friend.

Police say that is a common tactic by thieves, who try to see if anyone is home.  If a home owner answers the door, they say they are looking for a friend, if no one answers, they break into the place.

The man  is in custody and will be back  in court on Tuesday to face  several charges, including, Break and enter, possession of stolen property, possession of  house breaking instruments.

A little old for breaking into cars, isn't it time to grow up and get a job ?

With the vast shortage of labor about to come upon us, it's time we look at forcing these people to contribute in some way, to do a job, any job.

We can't keep supporting people and supporting the jail system. One way or another, these guys are going to have to start earning their keep or they'll break the backs and banks of all of us.

I'm a useless F-U isn't an excuse any more.
There's lots of things a useless F-U can still do to contribute in some way, easy jobs. Everyone has to do something, the worker bees can't do it all anymore.
Court Tuesday...Wednesday next B and E.
Time to break the cycle. Lock him up and put him to work for the community cleaning up the city, shovelling snow for the old folks in town, chopping wood etc. Chester
And pay some guard(s) $20 bucks an hour to see that the jerk just doesn't run away (with the govt approved and funded axe or shovel) and dig his way into someone else's house. I say hang them or give them a bus ticket out of town.To which they can get off the bus in Hixon and then hitch hike back. No win for anyone cept the bad guy.
Chain gangs, Harbinger, chain gangs.
One big mean experienced guard (male or not male) with a shotgun, and authorization to use it, and a van driver, or have I been watching too many old movies? these useless tits can learn to shovel sidewalks while chained to a buddy. Bathroom breaks? the van can tow a trailer with an outhouse on board. We can drive by and laugh at the guy who has to have one leg in the biffie with his buddy who is answering nature's call. I'm serious, make prison a place they really don't want to come back to. Cruel and unusual? I hope so, it is nothing less than many of those vermin deserve.
metalman.
How about giving these bad guys a rake and a shovel, transport them 300 miles northeast of Yellowknife and tell them they are gonna build a golf course. No work, no food. Run away? Bring them back fer a longer holiday. Sure would teach me a lesson. Lawyers and kin can commute.
