Its a done deal ,and yes, the "pound keeper"  will have the authority to impound your cat if the cat is "at large".

Councilor's Sethen and Rogers  stuck with their original stance on thematter, and opposed the final reading of the bylaw, but that wasn't enough to stop it.

Council has approved the new animal control bylaw which labels some breeds as restricted animals,  and has new rules concerning animals considered "dangerous."

The bylaw was developed  following concerns about pit bulls, and pit bull cross breeds.  While there are some who  agree with the intent of the bylaw, there are others who believe the bylaw is descriminatory.

Excellent!!!
The Mayor and Council have shown not only dogs have teeth!!!
Better watch your kitty cats!!!
Or teach them how to show their claws!!!
The By Law cop won this round!!
Maybe now the owners of pets in Ptince George will find out just how disposable they really are.
That pound can be a real killer!!!!
I say it is about time this happened. According to the stats, 47% of the pit bulls in the city have bitten someone. Anyone that would want an animal like that should have their head examined. Can you imagine the terror a person, and especially a small child, would experience while having their face ripped off by one of these things?
