The air in Prince George and a lot of other places is about to get much cleaner!
For those who hadn't noticed,OIL hit almost $93.00 dollars a barrel so far today, and it probably isn't done yet!
Right now,the price at the pumps is a bonus, because very soon we will prices at levels we have NEVER had to deal with!
It might be a good time to fill those jerry cans out in the shed!
We may all be doing a lot less driving and a lot more walking in a very short time!
Cover your butts, because this time we are REALLY going to get it!
The Xmas season will soon be apon us and watch what happens!
Who is the committee planning to apply to for the declaration of “2008 Forest Capital of the Year”? Who makes the decision? And why does that have to cost an even ten thousand dollars if awarded? What are the benefits of being able to boast with a title like that? And how do we know in advance that 2008 will be the exceptional year that would qualify PG for that *honour*?

Isn't our forestry in a downturn because of the pine beetle, the collapse of the US housing market and the high Canadian dollar?

Will there be a tangible payback? How many potholes can be fixed with ten thousand dollars?

Is this title for B.C., Canada or the whole world?

Baffled, to say the least.

Money is thrown around like a bunch of drunken sailors. Puts my stomach in a know everytime I hear of crap like this. I think the bid committee should fund raise privately for their pet projects. Chester
What will be the benefit and return on the 10,000 dollar investment?

Why can't the mayor/council and/or city staff /manager pick up this idea and get it done?

Is it vital or not? I that lofty title going to influence anybody or anything?

I want deteriorated streets (Croft Road) and poor sidewalks repaired, sorry.

*Common sense is not a common commodity.*
I remember when both Prince Rupert and Ketchikan Alaska simultaneously boasted with identical huge signs that each was the *Salmon Capital of the World.*

I suppose that some people got a warm and fuzzy feeling out of that....but little else.
Gotta admit, I don't see any value in this at this point in time . . .
