Did You Get You Get Your Flu Shot? One Man's Opinion

I received an e-mail from Maxine the other day telling me to do a piece on the flu season. I know it isn’t very glamorous and it doesn’t stir up the emotions of many but I think she has a good point.

We need to be more diligent about making sure that we do get a flu shot .  What happens every winter is that as the stuff spreads into the community those who  haven’t had the shot pass it on to those who also didn’t get the shot and on and on it goes.

I used to be the poster boy for the flu shot clinic when I was on the air and I still believe that it works. Every year that I have had a flu shot it has worked.

There will be all sorts of arguments on this page no doubt saying that they may not get the right type of flu and so the shot is a waste of time.

Well waste of time or not, I can safely say I have heard all of those arguments and I for one took Maxine’s suggestion.

I went out and got a flu shot.

If you didn’t , don’t whine this winter when you suddenly feel as sick as a dog.  You had your chance.

I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion.

What a great bit of input.

Unlike other topics, it has received no comments in over 24 hours. I guess it must be a cold topic.

Four years ago, I decided to start to accept the flu shot.

It definitely does reduce the urge to whine.
Two years in a row I was feeling fine and went to get a flu shot - result: I got a vicious flu that laid me low for a week and a half!

Since then, no more!
Had mine four years in a row now. Well worth it my opinion
