Prince George, B.C. - The    Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre Society has received a $15,000 provincial grant .

The grant will be used for a feasibility study on the creation of a recreation/service centre and gathering place for community use.  The funding enables the CHNC to complete the feasibility study requested by the City of Prince George.

"The Community has expressed a desire to enhance and enrich the community through physical features such as proposed community centre and accompanying natural playground," said Executive Director Cathy Wiegand.  "The Centre will house programming and services delivered through the Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre as well as those programs delivered by partner agencies."

Incorporated in February 1994, the CHNC is a neighbourhood based organization with a Board of Directors from the Carney Hill Community.  CHNC offers a variety of programs from childcare and after school programs to community events and recreation opportunities for people of all ages.

Maybe they would like the Back Packer Hotel (soon to be the Bates Hotel) in their neighbourhood to spice things up?
So, you have the Bonnet Hill Pub to spice things up. They want a community centre too.

;-)
Are they starting a pub?
If the Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre Society is interested in designing a Natural Playground at their proposed community center, I suggest they check out the Natural Playgrounds Company at www.naturalplaygrounds.com. This is an excellent site with a tremendous number of helpful resources and services all focused on Natural Playgrounds!
