As long as they deserve it. Right?
1.9% is merely an indexing increase due to inflation. I have no problem with that.
hmmm, must be the season for giving. Dawson Creek's mayor and councils just got a pay raise too.
Just keeping up with inflation. A far cry from the 28% and golden pensen the MLAs voted themselves. Speaking of increases, isn't it just about time for city council to get it's nose deeper in the trough?
If we give the Mayor of Quesnel another $48,000.00 per year he would be paid the same as our illustrious Mayor. $86,000.00 per year. Maybe he should get a travel budget also, and maybe a vehicle. Huge expense account and **Bobs your Uncle**
I betcha the mayor of Quesnel doesn't have his travel agent on speed dial.
I don't get a cost of living wage and I doubt most working people do. Gov doesn't even want to raise the minimum wage from 8 bucks.
Nothing wrong with elected officials gettin a raise IF they earned it.
Unlike like our provincial Liberal government who gave themselves a fat one and DID NOT earn it!
But,most have forgtten that insult now I notice, but they KNEW that would happen!
Always does!
Local councils are usually hard working themselves, but not ALL of the councillors are.
Some hardly even show up,and when they do,they do squat!
That's why we all need to pay attention to what these city councils are doing and who they are actually listening too.
