Thompson Creek Metals Seeks Government Support for Endako Expansion

Thompson Creek Metals, which has a 75 % stake in Endako Mines, in the Fraser Lake area,(see photo at right) says it  is considering a $373 million dollar expansion.

Seeking approval for the project ,TCM estimates they will be able to increase production at Endako Mines from 28,000 to 50,000 tonnes per day with reserves estimated to last about 16 years.

Additional exploration activity is being conducted on the Endako property outside the current pits, involving both aerial geophysical and soil-sampling geochemical exploration work that may be followed up with diamond drilling.

The company is seeking government support from all levels.

This is really good news IMO.

Now we will see how much the government really supports mining or if they are just farting in shallow water.
Mt.Milligan should be next, but we will see if they have any balls, or if they will let the natives decide the issue!
What the Campbell government may not be considering is that with the way forestry/logging is going to decline,they had better start supporting alternative industry, and mining is all we have up here!
It will be a major issue at election time!
I agree that we need to expand and develop our resource industry's in BC. From the picture, I have a feeling many will have a problem with the consequences. It does make a poor advertisement for Beautiful BC. Unfortunately. Chester
