Garvin's Canyon, looking north from Chief Lake Road,

The snowfall may have made driving a challange if not  downright dangerous yesterday, but Mother Nature did give us  some really beautiful images.

At left, and below right, tres along Foothills Boulevard gave the  drive a magical feeling

We do live in a beautiful country!
We sure do BCRacer. Too bad we need snow to beautify our dead trees. (p.s) i know the ones in the pics are live spruce.
can't see the trees, can you cut down that forest.
What is the source for the name Garvin's Canyon?
I think that property just sold recently if I remember correct. I think it was something like 160 acres for under $200,000? Most of the property was canyon, but it had a few nice building spots overlooking the canyon.
An old timer told me there used to be a bridge over the canyon. He recalled it as being a very shaky rickety bridge!

I was glad to see all the work and rip rap that was added along the southern approach to the canyon. It was really starting to erode along the banks. Glad that it was taken care of before a huge slide & washout.
I heard that Garvins Canyon is also a natural route for grizzly bears and wildlife to gain access to the river. Is this true?
