By 250 News

Another probe into the death of Ian Bush of Houston will come to a close on Thursday morning,
The Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP, Paul Kennedy will release his findings and recommendations on the complaint he lodged following the death of Ian Bush.
Ian (shown in photo) was shot in the back of the head by Constable Paul Koester at the Houston RCMP detachment in October of 2005. According to the officer who pulled the trigger, there was an altercation, and fearing for his life, the officer drew his gun and after hitting Ian on the back of the head several times, he shot the young man in the back of the head.
During a Coroner’s inquest, a blood spatter expert testified the shooting could not have taken place the way Constable Koester had described.
The Commission Chair's initial complaint which was investigated, was as follows:
- Whether the RCMP officers involved in the events of October 29, 2005, from the moment of initial contact until Mr. Bush's subsequent death, complied with all appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines and statutory requirements for the arrest and treatment of persons taken into and released from custody, and whether such policies, procedures and guidelines are adequate.
- Whether RCMP officers involved in the criminal investigation of the officer who shot Mr. Bush complied with the RCMP policies, procedures, guidelines and statutory requirements for the conduct of such an investigation and whether such policies, procedures and guidelines are adequate, and, further, whether such investigation was carried out in an adequate and timely fashion.
When the Commission Chair releases his findings in Vancouver on Thursday morning, he will also release follow up actions he intends to immediately undertake.

I do not believe that anyone will rule against the once great RCMP.
My biggest concern is that Koester will still be a cop with a gun, and that in itself is truly terrifying!
