Prince George, B.C. - The opening and official light up for the first "Northern Lights Festival has been delayed by one day.
Northern Lights Festival Coordinator, Joel Koette says there wer some "electricial issues", but the problems will be straightened out to reset the official light up for Thursday at 5:00 on Connaught Hill. The site will then be opened to the public at 7:00. Those times are a full 24 hours later than the original light up and opening plans.
Koette says it seems there was miscommunication between the Festival organizers and the staff installing the necessary electrical equipment. "Since this is our first Festival it is to be expected that there might be some glitches, but it has really come together with the assistance of the City, Initiatives Prince George, City Centre Centures and the rest of our soponsors. It really is going to be gorgeous and should be an excellent display."
The Connaught Hill display was supposed to start at the same time as the official light up in the Civic Centre Square which is set for this evening. That Civic Centre Square light up will go ahead as sheduled at 7:00 this evening.
