Annual Light Up Event A Success

Hundreds of moms, dads, kids and  some pets, were on hand at the Square in front of the Civic Centre in Prince George this evening for the annual  light up of Civic Square.

With  the Spruce Kings helping with the sleigh rides,  a childrens choir, ice skating, hot chocolate and the Festival of Trees just a few steps away,  the evening was a major success.

Acting Mayor Councillor Don Zurowski  led the crowd in the countdown to the light up.  ( click on the video icon to see the 8 second countdown)

The event wrapped up with the arrival of Santa who   was serenaded into the square by  a children’s choir singing "Here Comes Santa Claus".
