Another Team Added to WBC

 Three teams are guaranteed for the World Baseball Challenge in Prince George in 2009.

 Joining the Prince George Axemen and Team Canada will be the Reno Astros representing the US.

The Astros have a long history of championship teams but are also known for developing major league baseball talent. One of their recent players to make a big splash in the bigs is pitcher Josh Beckett. The right handed pitcher is coming off his second World Series championship and the MVP of the 2003 world series with Florida.

The 5 team World Baseball Challenge will take place at Citizen Field from July the 21st to the 26th. Taiwan is also interested in attending the tournament and will make a final decision early in 2008.
