The city of Prince George will see a Tony Roma’s  restaurant in the old Food Teller building sometime after spring 2008.

Ryan Pomeroy, President of The Pomeroy Group of Companies, says the company will open in Dawson Creek after Christmas, then Ft St John in the early spring and Prince George after that.

"We have the plans drawn up for the old Food Teller building, we just now have to wait in line until the two other projects have been finished" he said.

At the same time Pomeroy says his compnay has bought the Best Western Motel located on Victoria Avenue in Prince George. “We have already made some changes to the facility, by adding new beds, new linen and pillows. We intend on making it a first class facility .  They will be some of finest rooms in town when we are finished “.

The Best Western name will remain on the facility.

Sorry, but where exactly is the old Food Teller building?
Corner of 5th ave and George. Same block as the Keg but on the Ramada end. Tony Romas in Edmonton is awesome so this will be a good choice. So thats The Keg, Ricks Grill and Tony Romas all on the same block. Add a few music venues and coffee shops and we got ourselves entertaiment disrtict.
Oh yum! Now we need an Olive Garden and Red Lobster. :)
I'm with Heidi - and the reason I asked is because I don't live in PG, but Quesnel. An Olive Garden would be a good draw for me....
A good name in restaurants, from what I have heard.I think they are in yankee land too (or is that where they originated??)
metalman.
i guess all the homeless people need a new foyer to sleep in now.
Obviously the boys at Tony Roma's' haven't had a trip up Highway 16 West to see where the action is. I will wait til they move up there from downtown. By the way, are they gonna have valet parking at 5th and George?
Don't worry Mr. H.... Swiss Chalet is supposedly coming soon to a parking lot near you... along with a "Montana's", or so I have heard.

Goodtimes... :-)

Downtown no thanks.
Wow, an almost complete listing of the worst of the franchise restaurants that surround every mall in N. America. Can't wait to see people actually line up to get into an East Side Mario's. Only in PG.
Montana's and Olive Garden would be great!
I am glad they chose downtown instead of strip mall hell, though.
I'm so hungry I could eat at Chili's. No, on second thought, maybe not.
Anything is better than cooking at home Death :) lol... or McDonald's...sorry McDonald's love ya but my age is getting bigger and so will my butt. :)
Pomeroy Group bought the foodteller building a long time ago...maybe 2years ago??? I will believe Tony Romas when they put up the sign....
Montana's - Olive Garden????? we will see!!
I like to hear these good news of new eating establishments coming to town! Some of the established ones may have to finally do something about filthy carpets, torn vinyl seats, unstable tables, spotty glasses and utensils, rusty salads, tough steaks, slow service etc to stay in business - or close!

The more the better! Let the good times roll!

Good tp have develppment news after last weeks of mill closures
Diplomat... HEY !!! ... so you're the one who has been eating at my house while I've been outta town ... :-)

I too welcome more development & more choices but most of these joints are definitely not gonna raise the bar in terms of quality or service. Hopefully I'm wrong but experience says I'm not.

Don't forget to support the locally owned restaurants, there are actually a couple of good ones.
Olive Gardens have a hard time surviving the winter here.......

;-)
Exactly Rockin. Tony Romas has in the works for years, ever since the for sale sign went down.

The Keg was supposed to expand into the laneway there as well, but never did.

Rick's Grill has had a sign up for half a decade or more about an expansion there as well.

I wonder how many more we can take before some will go bust. There are very few restaurants in town that are full at munching time as they are in Vancouver with full dining rooms and line ups to boot in several places.
I like Montana's because the servers there can write their names upside down. And they always have a rail ready at the entrance so I can hitch up my horse.

"Diplomat... HEY !!! ... so you're the one who has been eating at my house while I've been outta town ... :-)"

I was eating your RRrabbitt stew!

:-)
lol...owl. I had to read your surviving the winter comment twice before it would sink in. Let's see if my brain can survive this cold!
Tony Roma's - big, messy ribs...very good
