Sounds more like a " The Province Is Doomed" conference.
Hey,this is how these people justify their fat paychecks!
Standing around eating rubber chicken and running their mouths, and in the end,do exactly nothing.
And that is what will come form this forum...nothing.
Let's not look to politicans or political appointee's to help solve the issues we are facing.
In the end,it will be the sheer willpower, determination, and the work ethics of the people of B.C.that do it for themslves!
Will Jim Pattison be there to speak/disuss? Will any CEO of Forest Licensees be there to speak/discuss?

Politicals are simply navel gazing.

What has come out of last year's forum? Did something happen that would not have happened otherwise? Ditto for the previous fora.

Other than that, it is a chance for the convention folks in PG to make some money from outside sources.
Offshore oil? Do I hear a hint of offshore oil? Going, going ........
I see on the news,Oil did the job for Newfoundland'
They are no longer considered a "have not" province!
Newfoundland didn't have any First Nations naysayers on the prowl.
It'll be 'offshore oil' alright. If it's ever developed that's exactly where it'll be going. "Offshore". To China, and Japan, and Korea, and the USA, etc., etc.

While the price WE pay for our 'OWN' resource, to use it here, to run our 'own' vehicles, and heat our 'own' houses, and all the other wonderful things 'we' could use it for, will go 'up', not 'down'.

And that's without the Premier of Vancouver adding any of his proposed 'carbon taxes' to it, and making it still more expensive. To us.

But hey, look on the bright side. There'll be 'jobs'. And we can all 'work'. Harder. And longer. To pay the higher prices. Causing us to 'work' still harder, and still longer. And pollute even more. Causing us to pay still higher prices. Which we'll do by working. Harder. And longer....
