Can't help wonder what is wrong when so many of these kids that go missing are First Nations.
Sure,it happens to white kids too,but it does seem to happen more often to Native kids.
Why is that?
Doesn't anyone care about these kids?
Who is supposed to be looking out for them?

Sure wouldn't want to approach a ten year old kid outa the blue cause then if any one sees you they will call the cops and presto, you're known to the police and if anything else happens anywhere they will come looking fer you. So it is best not to approach any little kid. Very costly gesture. Maybe if yer a babe or old lady then you will be above suspicion. But fer a guy, forget it. Know what I'm sayin'?

harbinger, why would you approach the kid. just get a description and call the cops. it's ok to make a report. if you think a kid's at risk it's your duty to report.

Jus Cuz: Law enforcement agencies are required to ensure that the following conditions are met before activating an AMBER Alert:

The victim is under the age of 18
Police have reasonable grounds to believe that the victim has been abducted
Police have reasonable grounds to believe the victim is in imminent danger
Police have obtained enough description information about the victim, abductor or an involved vehicle
Police believe that the alert can be issued in a time frame that would provide a reasonable expectation that the child could be returned or the abductor could be apprehended.

If ALL of the above criteria are NOT met, an AMBER Alert will NOT be activated.

Regardless if the criteria for Amber Alert applies here or not, the fact remains there is still a 10 year old child that has been reported missing!

Don't be paranoid Harbinger!! One should always help someone that is, or appears in distress. You might need that reciprocated one day. Our society has taken quite a downturn, so many people choose too look the other way. Only a few years ago, while living in the lower mainland MetroTown area, two little four year olds approached me claiming they don't know where they live. So picture me in my leather biker jacket and blue jeans in an area known for drug dealers and addicts alike, walking around buzzing different apartment building doors. I finally located the mother and all was well. Now, i was waiting for the RCMP to arrive with Tasers in tow, claiming i was some child abduction pervert. But perhaps those little girls might have met a worse fate with the next person to come along.

On another instance, while fine dining at MacD's before heading to class, a vagrant drops from his chair and slams to the floor. I'm cramming for an engineering exam, so this is very disruptive. I glance around, and find the other patrons gossiping and looking like they could care less. Not having much confidence in my first aid technique, i reluctantly choose to try my best seeing as general concensus looked to be something like "he's a drunken bum, don't touch him it might be infectious". After several attempts of cursing to convince the the manager to call EMS, MR Vagrant receives proper medical attention for cardiac arrest. The EMS claimed, what i did, saved his life.

Maybe the King Of Karma will return the favour one day!!

I wouldn't even tell anyone let alone a cop that a ten year old caught my eye fer any reason. Just goes to show ya how a little kid can scare old white guys. Be very afraid. There word against yours , and even if ya done nuthin' the cops have yer name. Cool, eh?

Victoria St. is a area where Johns drive around looking for prey. I sure hope this little girl is okay. THIS is one of the reasons we fought so hard for the Backpacker project to be located elsewhere. We do not need anymore people from who knows where with who knows what, maybe pedophiles.The National Hotel would have been a good spot and cost a lot less money to renovate and close to facilities.The Auction is on Dec l8th, maybe this City could clue in.

With global warming coming I sure hope they let me cook twice a week outside my cave. With which I will gladly pay carbon credits to balance my carbon footprint.
