By 250 News
Christine Finerty , The Public Affairs Coordinator with the Canadian Red Cross in Prince George says they have opened an office at 1399-6th ave in the city to help the families hit by a flood on the Nechako.
Finerty says the Red Cross will provide services not covered by the Province or the Insurance companies such as clean up safety kits. We will also help them fill out their forms for assistance. In addition we can provide the home owner with information on how to deal with , for example mold, and water when they return to their home.
The city originally opened a similar center at the Civic Center which operated for the first 72 hours, but it is now winding down. They provided emergency services for the first 72 hours.
The Red Cross Spokesperson says we now will deal with the 20 families that have suffered losses and if required will provide them with clothing, food and shelter vouchers
