What no posts blaming the highway maintenance contractor for these accidents?

Maybe people aren't as predictable as I thought!
Maybe people are afraid to pull over for fear of losing control of their vehicle and causing an even bigger problem for the emergency vehicles. The snow on the sides of the roads is too deep to move into without having a problem.
Actually, the reasonableman has a very good point!
"The snow on the sides of the roads is too deep to move into without having a problem."

Not only that, but unless you really know the stretch of the road, one really does not know where the real shoulder of the road is in some places.
I was following a maintenance vehicle yesterday and passed one of those accidents on Hwy 97 North of Quesnel - the maintenance vehicle was scraping the middle of the road, but NOT sanding though it was a sand truck. The highway had a nice sheen of ice on it and no sand.
Oh that's better. The predictability if 'victims' comes through in the end.

Seems to me there is a sign as you enter Quesnel on hwy 97 from both directions that says something like..

"All those that hate speeding tickets raise your right foot"

Maybe they should change it to 'all those who who think hwy maintenance sucks raise your right foot'
