Environment Canada’s Jim Steele has looked over all the numbers for Prince George’s weather for the past year, and  says there were some real highs and lows!

Here is his annual report:

HOTTEST DAY :July 13th with a sizzling 35.6 DEGREES

COLDEST DAY - January 11th with -31.3 DEGREES

BIGGEST NEWS - Summer, June - July warm and dry, August was a disappointment

** HI-LITES FOR THE YEAR**
Jan -A very mild and relatively dry start however winter came back in thesecond week with strong winds and the coldest temperatures of the year.
Feb - Off to a chilly start with milder conditions by the 2nd week.  Temperatures climbed above freezing every day from the 14th until the last few days of the month.
March - A mild but wet month with late season snows and a heavy rain event on the 16th.

April - A real roller coaster month with record breaking cold on the 3rd not to be out done by record breaking warmth on the 6th, 7th & 8th. A very wet end to the month

May -  A real rough start to the month coming in very cool and wet. The last 10 days were very dry and warm with afternoon readings into the mid twenties.
June - This month can be fickle and so it was. Hot and cold, wet and dry.
July - Wow - What a month, very warm and mostly dry. Record temperatures on 12th, 13th & 14th. Hottest day ever in the month of July at 35.6 on the 13th.
August - To remain politically correct, August struggled. Temperatures never made. it to the 30 degree mark and it rained on 15 out of 31 days.
September - Started off very wet followed by a late summer treat with a 25 degree day on the 10th. Another wet month with rain on 18 days out of 30.
October - An interesting month starting off cool and wet, then mild and dry, then cool and wet near mid month again. The oddity, no measureable snow was recorded.
November -  A tough start to the month with cold and snow, 28 cm in the first 3  days !!. This all changed with rain around mid month, then the big chill to end the month.
December -  A very cold and snowy start, then milder. This lead to a significant ice jam causing signficant problems for several weeks. .
