Mattt Halischuk scored the winning goal at 3:36 in overtime to give Team Canada the Gold Medal at the World junior Hockey Championships!
The teams were playing four on four in overtime after Sweden had tied up the game 2-2 in the third period.
This is Canada’s 14th gold medal at the World Juniors, while Sweden picks up its seventh silver.. This was Sweden’s fist appearance in the final since 1996.
Team Canada Goalie Steve Mason was named the MVP.
