Terry Fox Statue Getting Extra Attention

Prince George, B.C. - The Terry Fox memorial statue that was vandalized last summer will be getting some extra special attention.
Last summer City Council approved spending $6,000 to repair the badly damaged statue.
Since that time, donations of $15 thousand have been made towards the refurbishing and protection of the statue. The City’s Community Services Co Ordinator, Doug Hofstede says the extra dollars will be used to :
- elevate the statue, ( the pedestal profile will be narrow so people can’t stand on it.)
- surround the statue with a garden
- add lighting
