Again....
Too fast for the roads.
Will people ever learn?
Used to drive ahead of the Sand truck at 7am Years ago.
Nothing ever changes "Working 9 to 5"
No Snow out West, must be Black ICE!
Roads to slow for the cars.
Will government ever invest?
hmmm may not be speed related! All facts are not in yet!
Slow down people. Could be you next time.
You're right getajob, some of those truckers would give a dog's arsehole heartburn the way they drive. Let's not be too quick to judge either.
Drove back from the coast the other day and those trucks scare the hell out me! They also need to slow down!
Everytime we got passed by one in the canyon, the wall of slush that hit the windshield actually stopped the wipers cold, and left you blind til they got going again!
I am sure they know this happens when they pass you, but they just don't seem to give a damn!
And by the way...the roads were bad from the end of the freeway all the way through the canyon until we hit about Spences Bridge.
The traffic was very heavy and we never saw a cop out on the highway all the way to PG, other than right in the towns, and we were watching for them!
What's up with THAT?
Drive the speed limit on that road in the winter and people are passing you like your standing still...
Your right Northman.I was doing the limit on Friday and people were passing me like it was summertime. Also there are a lot more big trucks on the roads these days or so it seems and yes they need to slow down as well. Its hard to believe how many tragedies we have had this winter
They are driving like idiots out there because it rare to see a cop much outside the city limits.
I have made a point lately of watching for them when I travel and I'm just not seeing them like we used to.
No more highway patrols, so no more caution.
I have never been passed so many times on a double solid line as I have been between PG and Vanderhoof!
What gives with these cops?
Where are they, at the donut shop?
And your right redneck, the big rigs ARE a problem!
Everybody needs to reduce their speed.
This is not the first time we have had winter roads here, this happens every year without fail.

If the SUV and the big truck had both reduced their speed enough prior to the accident, it would not have been as severe when they did hit.

Plan for the next guy to screw up right in front of you and drive accordingly.

Don't blame the cops, it's civilians driving those cars. Besides, what do you want ? Cops with people pulled over on the side of the highways everywhere ? In a snowstorm ?
i think what andyfreeze is trying to say that all the cops have to do is go out once and a while to show the flag.It will slow people down.I haven't seen a cop on the highway unless there is an accident and I travel them a lot.
Our community has lost a wonderful person. Driving to fast for road conditions, maybe but God only knows. He received an angel yesterday.
What I see along that highway when I drive it (in summer yet the vision stays with me if I drive that highway in winter) are all the crosses where people have died. We don't need to see cop cars as we should drive as if we could meet one around the next corner. THere are sections of that highway that are frightening at any time of year.
"i think what andyfreeze is trying to say that all the cops have to do is go out once and a while to show the flag.It will slow people down."

No it won't. It will slow people down on the 150 foot section where he has somebody stopped, that's all.

Maybe we should send everybody out on the road with their own personal babysitter to make sure they do what they are supposed to ?

Or we could all grow up and drive properly, even in the absence of the babysitter.

My condolences to all involved.

The message to all:

Slow down, there is no other way, there is no trick or secret to it, there is no way around it, no way to overcome it, slow down, slow down, slow down.

The primary cause is failure to slow down.
It says Maximum 100, the controllable speed during winter conditions is 80.
It makes a HUGE difference.
