R.C.M.P. suspect alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal rear-end collision that occurred on the Hart Highway.
Police say a family of four was sitting inside their broken down vehicle, parked on the shoulder of the road, when it was struck from behind.
One child died, both parents sustained critical injuries -- with one being air-lifted to hospital in Vancouver -- the only other occupant, a sibling, was uninjured.
R.C.M.P. say the driver of the vehicle that hit them is being investigated for impaired driving. The individual also sustained serious injuries.
The crash occurred just before 11p.m. Saturday night, near the former Wildwood elementary school and closed the road for five hours.
