Prince George, B.C. - Premier Gordon Campbell arrived in Prince George earlier today to see first hand the ice jam on the Nechako River and the flood damage.
The Premier says he fully expects the Federal Government to come to the table for funding for a permanent solution.

Arriving at Lakeland Mills via helicopter following an aerial tour of the area, the Premier told reporters the Province has approved the funding for the hot water melt plan, and that an ice expert from New Brunswick would be arriving in Prince George tomorrow.
That expert would be the owner of Eco Technologies, the company which uses an amphibex to break up and remove ice. That is the company which Opinion250 reader "heidi1555" discovered and shared with Opinion250.
The Premier didn't hold any public session with the members of the Nechako River Industry Group, but did tour the Delhaven area where, once again, water is percolating into the property, despite the installation of gabion dikes.
The Premier says he thought it was important for him to come to Prince George and meet directly with the Mayor "We congratulate the City and Provincial officials on the work they've been doing. We have approved a proposal now and we're funding a proposal that I think will make a difference if the City decides to go ahead with it. Equally important I think its important to see at this kind of a time, we obviously have to look for some long term and permanent solutions here not just part time solutions."
That proposal is the $400 thousand dollar hot water treatment plan.
