Prince George RCMP have a suspect in custody in connection with an attempted hold-up and a robbery on Saturday.

Staff-Sergeant Doug Aird says a lone male entered the Evergreen Pharmacy on 3rd Avenue just before 4pm on Saturday afternoon, threatened the employees and demanded cash.  However, Aird says when he was not given any money, he fled the scene on foot down Victoria Street and onto 1st Avenue.

Just under one hour later, the Love ’N Lace Store in Parkwood Mall was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash, with the suspect running off towards the hospital.

Staff-Sergeant Aird says several officers and a police service dog were called to the scene, but the suspect’s trail was lost after a couple of blocks.  But Aird says, based on information received, a suspect was identified early on in the investigation.

A 35-year-old man was taken into custody at 8pm on Saturday evening.  He’s being held in custody until his court appearance.

It is time to make these people clean up the streets for doing the wrong things. When we stop protecting them and expose them for what they are maybe then things will change. We are always making excuses for these losers. He has a drug problem or he had a rough upbringing blah blah blah. You do the crime it is high time to do the hard time and hard time is working like the people you steal from. There will be no pity party from me
Load him onto a chunk of ice that ampibex breaks off. Let's see where he floats to.
Job security fer the RCMP. As in the hypothetical scenario, " Sorry, Constable Smith. We are gonna have to lay you off due to the crime rate diminishing. But that is OK because it is our policy to suspend Mounties with pay in every circumstance". When the crime rate goes up, we will give you a call".
I really like the ice chunk ride idea!
