Name Released In Quesnel Fatal

Quesnel, B.C.-  Quesnel RCMP have released the identity of the person killed in Friday's fatal motor vehicle crash on Highway 97 in that community.

Police say Julia Ann Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred just before 3:30pm on Friday afternoon on Dragon Lake Hill.

RCMP say it appears a one-tonne crew cab pick up heading southbound on the hill, crossed the centre line, and struck Johnson's car head-on.  The victim was the lone occupant of the car. 

The driver and lone occupant of the pick-up was taken to GR Baker hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The North Cariboo Traffic Services Unit is still investigating the cause of the crash, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
