Suspect Shot By Police, Now Charged

Prince George, B.C. - A total of nine charges have been laid in connection with a weekend truck theft and police chase that saw two officers injured and the suspect shot.
The incident began early Sunday morning in the downtown core and ended on a dead-end rural road south of the city. Police blockaded the stolen truck, but the suspect rammed two cruisers -- injuring the officers -- before he was shot by other officers on-scene. The suspect was taken to PGRH with non-life threatening injuries.
Prince George RCMP Constable Gary Godwin says charges have been laid against 39-year-old Troy Alvin Krieger. The charges include two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, three counts of assault with a weapon, and possession of stolen property.
Constable Godwin says at the time of his arrest, Krieger was wanted for outstanding warrants in Chetwynd, Powell River, and Edson, Alberta. He remains in custody.
Godwin says the two RCMP officers injured in last Sunday’s incident are back on the job, but are still suffering from minor soft tissue injuries.
