Prince George, B.C. -  The 2010 Olympic Mascots will make their debut appearance outside the Lower Mainland when they appear at the Charles Jago Northern Sports Centre in Prince George this morning.

Quatchi, Migu and Sumi will be accompanying Vancouver Organizing Committee CEO, John Furlong, on a tour of the new sports facility atop Cranbrook Hill.

And Events Prince George Manager, Virginia Sprangers, is inviting city residents to come out and greet the costumed visitors from 9:45am until 10:30am this morning.

The mascots will join members of the UNBC Timberwolves basketball and soccer teams and they mentor youth players on the courts and fields inside the facility.

Furlong will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Prince George Spirit of B.C. Community later on at the Civic Centre.

Oh man have you seen these things yet? Who ever thought of these things must have been on LSD at the time the idea came in.
Nice to see they give next to no advance notice of this !
If they were on LSD they might have turned out better. These look like the first idea that popped into someones head on a Monday morning. And a little bit of South Park.
I just love the decidedly "asian" theme!
Are they telling us something or what?
So far,we have an Inukshuk from the far north, and some asian themed mascots.
So what the hell do those things have to do with B.C.?
After all,our taxes are going to pay for a lot of it!
I think we should have had a "Gordon Campbell" doll with its eyes really close together...just like the real thing!
I'm sure that there are a lot of gordon campbell dolls out there....voodoo ones with little pins sticking out of them.
Those mascots basically sum up the whole Olympic concept.

They would have been better off to go with the three stooges, Larry, Curly, and Moe, not only would they be mascots, but we have them **live** in the legislature, and touring the Province.
Can't help but notice the whining about B.C.Place and the costs of refurbishing it.
Now,instead of tearing it down, they have decided it would be a great idea to sell off the land around them (condo's) to finance the upgrade of this useless and very expensive building.
What it actually is,is simply another way for the government to get land away from the taxpayers and into the hands of developers, which does not come as a suprise at all!
