Prince George B.C. - Icy roads in Prince George  played a factor in a couple of  crashes today.    Just after 1:00  a City bus was rear ended by a car at 15th and Ospika.  No one hurt, but the car was not drivable after the collison. The passengers on the bus were transferred to another  unit.

There was also a crash  at 4th and Winnpeg.  Again, no one hurt, but both vehicles  sustained consdiderable damage.

Police advise  the roads are very slick, and  drivers should  slow down  and  adjust their  driving to the conditions.

Some sand would be nice. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not seeing a lot of sanded intersections and I'm on the road all day.
Studded tires are handy... its like taking the sand with you everywhere you go!
Sand costs money. Our 4% tax increase for road maintenance wasn't enough.
Hope the bus wasn't turning into Timmies to go to the drive thru. Could happen. Hungry passengers and all.
Almost every intersection is a skating rink. Start braking long before and don't forget to slip those automatics into neutral it will help you stop better.
When the ice gets that hard and slick even studs dont help much
Studded snow tires on all four tires is the best traction you will ever get. Try putting them on an all-wheel drive vehicle and see where you can go. You wouldn't believe that driving in winter is so easy.
Quite correct, good winter tires and studding are very effective and should be considered by everyone out there. Couple that with safe driving habits then winter driving should be a breeze. Outfitting your vehicle this way may cost $400 to $1000 on average, considering a possible 5 year life, that's less than $100-$200 per year. Isn't that a good investment for protecting you and your loved ones. Too expensive, i'm sure you spend more on frivolous purchases every year.
