Borrowing Nearly $12 Million O.K.

Prince George, B.C. - The City of Prince George has the green light to borrow nearly $12 million dollars.
On October 15th, 2007, Council granted first three readings to a bylaw that would allow the City to borrow $11,744,000.
The money would be split between several projects:
- up to one hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($180 000) to acquire all such real property, easements, rights-of-way, licenses, rights or authorities as may be requisite or desirable for or in connection with the Cemetery Development; and
- a sum up to two hundred and fifty thousand ($250 000) to acquire all such real property, easements, rights-of-way, licenses, rights or authorities as may be requisite or desirable for or in connection with the Downtown Street Lighting; and
- a sum up to eleven million three hundred and seventeen thousand ($11 317 000) to acquire all such real property, easements, rights-of-way, licenses, rights or authorities as may be requisite or desirable for or in connection with the RCMP – New Facility; anda sum up to twenty seven thousand ($27 000) to acquire all such real property, easements, rights-of-way, licenses, rights or authorities as may be requisite or desirable for or in connection with the West Bowl Snow Disposal Facility.
The City put in motion an alternate approval process but there were no petitions opposing the borrowing registered with the City.
