Prince George, B.C. - The Spruce Kings will  be able to  sell beer  at the Coliseum during the last three games of the season and  during the playoffs.

A similar  permit was  granted last year.  Leisure Services Manager, Tom Madden says the addition of beer at the games proved to be popular with some fans, and there were no problems.

Madden says while there may have been complaints registered with the media, there were no complaints  sent to his office "I think the complaints  were more about  the beer being available in the first place, and not with the way it was delivered."

IT'S ABOUT TIME. YOU CAN BUY A BEER AT EVERY FAMILY RESTURANT IN TOWN, SO WHY NOT AT A HOCKEY GAME. OH BUY THE WAY, SOME OF THE CHURCHES ALSO ALLOW ALCOHOL TO BE CONSUMED ON THEIR PREMISE, AND THEY ARE PROBABLY AMONG THE VERY PEOPLE OPPOSING CONSUMPTION AT THE CN CENTER.
I wonder when we will be talking about legalizing drug use. It not too bad if you bump into someone and spill a little beer, but bumping into a guy that has a hot spoonful of crack ready for the needle is going to be a big deal.
YamaDooPolCat- You are kidding I hope.
Why do people need booze at every single event they go too?
No kidding Ruez. I like my beer just as much as the next guy, but I don't need to have one every single day of the year and I don't need one just to watch a hockey game.
Maybe the events are so bad they need something to fill up the time?

I never understood why people couldn't go out for a couple of hours and have a nice day or evening without alcohol.

I guess I am too old to undertand these ways.....

And no people I am not against a person having a drink or even two....

I must be too old too then BCRacer as I don't see why beer has to be served where a fair percentage of the viewers in the stands are kids. Drinking won't help the puck get in the net...well you might think it does ;) Save the celebrations for after the game with your adult friends.
It seems to be the trend in PG and the north in general. I was at 3 days grace last night and the 94X yuppies introducing the bands were encouraging people to have"a few drinks". Comon boys it was an all ages show! its not cool to tell teens they should be drinking. I was at an Ozzy Osbourne concert once and he even didnt make refrence to alcohol at his concert. I like to have a few drinks now and then but there is a time and a place for it and in the public and youth's eye is not the place!
I would like to see a better example set at public places like a hockey rink where minors are part of the attendees.

All adult, not such a big deal. But where kids are involved and influenced, I think no booze should be the policy. Chester
Seriously folks, let's get real here. These kids are educated about the effects of alcohol long before stepping into the CN Center for a ROCK AND ROLL show. Do you really think they've never seen anyone have a drink? Oh wow, I bet they've never heard anyone curse either. What a shame that some people have to say such uneducated, stupid things. I was there at the show and I hardly think that a brief mention of "who's had a few drinks tonight" is as bad as you think it is. People like to indulge in alcohol at sporting events and concerts. So what. I'm sick of seeing people bad mouthing all those who want to have a drink, simply based on the fact that a few people ruin it for others and drive drunk or cause problems. For the ammount of people in attendance at that show, there were not any problems that I saw. And wow, what a coincidence that when a teenager turns 19 one of the first places they want to go is the bar to legally have a few "pops". I'm not an alcoholic, I'm just so sick of people thinking everyone who indulges in alcohol is the bloody devil. Get with the times. Unreal.
Agreed with you Burns...just take a look at Europe - where wine, beer etc is not even an issue - if adults dont make it an issue neither will minors...I mean what is the first thing kids want to do when they turn old enough to drink - go to the bar and get pissed.

Dont make it an issue and it wont become one.
