Ft. St John Couple Located

Prince George, B.C. - RCMP say they now believe a Ft. St John couple travelling to Vancouver, is still enroute to Vancouver via Alberta.

Bank account records and witness statements confirm 71 year old Volker Kroecher, and 72 year old Morfydd Kroecher, were in Chetwynd at 1:00 yesterday, well after the avalanche that has closed Highway 97 north of Powder King and south of Mt LeMoray.

The Kroecher's advised witnesses in Chetwynd they were going to re-route back through Alberta.

It had been feared the Kroechers had been caught inthe avalanche that is blockig highway 97. The highway is expected to remain closed until at least Wednesday afternoon. The avalanche will be blasted, then equipment will be brought in to clear the road.
