The RCMP Constable who was accused of buying sex from two teenaged prostitutes in Prince George 15 years ten years ago, has launched a law suit against the force.
Constable Justin Harris was suspended with pay in September of 2004 after being accused of being involved with the hookers at the time former Provincial Court Judge David Ramsay was involved with the street workers. Ramsay was convicted and has since died in prison.
Harris faced a disciplinary hearing, but the case was dropped because the hearing took too long to be heard. There accusations never got to court because the key witness died.
Harris was was re-instated and currently lives in Kamloops. He maintains his innocence and wants compensation for claims including negligence, malicious prosecution and abuse of authority. The lawsuit names the Attorney-General of Canada, BC’s Public Safety Ministry and RCMP Deputy Commissioner Gary Bass.
